Euclid Law, the boutique competition law specialists, have today announced a merger with Brussels-based EDGE Legal, founded by the high-profile leading European competition lawyer Damien Geradin.
The expertise and innovative approach adopted by both firms, as well as the ability to advise without the conflicts experienced in larger firms, makes the partnership a natural fit.
With senior expertise in both Brussels and London, and the ability to advise clients across Europe on all aspects of EU and UK competition law, Euclid, which was recently nominated as Regional Firm of the Year at the Global Competition Review awards, is rapidly establishing itself as one of the leading competition law boutiques and as a credible alternative to the more traditional law firms.
Oliver Bretz, Founding Partner at Euclid Law, said:
“Bringing the team from EDGE, led by someone of Damien’s calibre, profile and experience into the Euclid Law team gives us an exceptionally strong bench of five senior lawyers with complementary expertise – on a par with the competition law teams in some of the largest elite law firms. We can deliver equivalent senior strategic experience, but in a more agile, innovative, and personal way than large firms.
“The firm is committed to challenging the traditional law firm model, adopting a more agile, innovative, commercial and less-leveraged approach to delivering strategically significant results for clients.”
Damien Geradin, Founding Partner of EDGE Legal, and now Partner at Euclid Law, said:
“My colleagues and I are delighted to join Oliver Bretz, Sarah Long, Marie Leppard, Gavin Robert and their colleagues at Euclid Law. Our team’s complementary skills bring experience at the very highest level, in all aspects of European and UK competition law, including mergers, cartels, state aid, abuse of dominance, EU courts’ litigation, and antitrust advice and compliance. With our combined strength, Euclid Law will be uniquely positioned to deliver top notch competition law advice in two major legal centres. We see ourselves as problem solvers working in close partnership with our clients, and are looking forward to helping them rise to the most complex antitrust challenges.”
